Interesting overlay effect

Actually you can read the same post at Veerle’s Blog, or in russian version of this blog, but I found this effect in December, while I was having fun with this photo.

Firstly we have to choose photo we are going to stylize. Some photos are better stylized and some are not. So i took this one:

This is the photo of my friends. Just duplicate your original layer (by pressing Ctrl+J or Cmd+J or Layer->Duplicate Layer) and then adjust its Hue-Saturation (Ctrl+U or Cmd+U).Make your photo look like it is an old photo you borrowed from your grandmas’ album.

Now go to Blending Options and select Overlay. You can also adjust curves or/and play with Hue-Saturation dialogs in order to get what you really want.
